Viral Marketing!

Sometimes the internet can be a funny thing....tonight I logged onto our website to check out the "website analytics." Basically it is who is viewing your site and how much. You can typically find out a viewer's "city" and their view count.

So enough with the internet marketing lesson, and on to the funny story! So I was checking out my analytics when I noticed something funny. Typically our family videos get a few hundred views - but the latest one was off the charts with over 1200 independent viewers! WOAH...So I started doing my investigation. I noticed in my references that most views were coming from a Cheerios owned facebook site. I followed the rabbit hole and found the reason!

Someone in Cheerios (probably a social media analyst) stumbled across our video/blog and reposted it on their site! BOOM....viewership explosion! Anyway - if you want to "rewatch" the video or see the comments we got - follow the link below! Our favorite comment voiced concern over germs since Bailey licked Lucy's hand. :) Germs in our house...Melissa would not allow it!

Maybe Lucy knew all along she was giving a healthy snack to Bailey! :)

Pam Keegan Burns: "My vet actually suggested giving Cheerios as treats instead of doggie biscuits....better for them!"

Hello Beahm family, Katie from Cheerios here. You're exactly right I found your video searching for Cheerios on YouTube. We love it, your daughter and pup are adorable! Actually, because we love it so much we were wondering if we could use it in an ad that would only live on Facebook. What do you think? It's completely up to you, we will not proceed with this idea unless we gain your permission. If you would like we could also include your names/family name in the ad to give you credit. Thanks for being a Cheerios fan!

Katie,

You are welcome to use the video for Cheerios. Please let us know if you need the video file - or anything else from us. We're not sure on the licensing on the audio track (included with ilife '09) - but we could also post it with no audio or something more royalty free as well. No need to refer to the family name, we are just happy to share our daughter's love of life and of course cheerios!
