Forest Creatures....

So as you can tell from the recent blogs, we are in the "waiting" period where we find every way possible to try to send Melissa into labor! I have my bets on June 5th. An old wives tale is to go on a nice long walk, so we packed the camera, some water, the cell phone (incase of emergency labor), and headed off to Umstead Park in Raleigh.

While there's about 20 miles of trails, we chose to play it a little safe and headed back on the company mill trail (only about 3 miles). We did see some cool creatures (aka bugs, lizards, and snakes) while we were hiking - so enjoy the pictures below!







All this wild adventuring reminded me of the fact that they are coming out with a movie of one of my favorite childhood books. I think this book has captured the adventurous spirit of boys for years - hopefully the movie will do it justice (since the book is only 40 pages long and is mostly pictures). ;) You guessed it...Where the Wild Things Are.
